To the editor, Modern medical science has reached a point where it cannot gain validity without evidence-based findings. It has also become obvious that newly obtained findings must be published in referred journals [1]. In this context, osteoporosis has become one of the most important areas of interest [2]. In the literature to date, although analyses of the publications in different fields have been reported [3–5], to the best of our knowledge, publications regarding osteoporosis have not been reported yet. Therefore, the objective of this study was to present the status of worldwide publications related to osteoporosis in the last 15 years. In this study, original articles, case reports, letters to editors, and editorial articles published between 2002 and 2016 were searched using the BWeb of science^ (WoS) database. Publications such as posters, erratum, book chapters, and bibliography categories were excluded.
