We appreciate the great efforts of the authors of gastric plication article which was published in the Obes Surg [1]. Gastric plication is not a new concept and was mentioned earlier in 1960 [2]. The procedure has gained interest and the Iranian authors have published one of the largest series of 800 patients and 12 years follow-up with 1% revision rate [3]. Short-term results of gastric plication showed promising diabetes control of 92% at 1 year follow-up [4]. We share their interest and have performed 87 procedures in the last 4 years. To compliment the scientific value of the article, we would like to raise few comments based on our personal experience with this procedure.
