In this article, we give an emphasis to some non-unique fixed point or periodic point results involving $$\mathcal {Z}_D$$ZD-contractions and generalized Meir–Keeler contractions in the setting of JS-metric spaces. Our theory extends, improves, and unifies several recent results in the existing literature. Moreover, we interpolate constructive examples and a couple of consequences to endorse the validity of the conceived results.
