This study investigates the mechanical properties of composites with the fiber surface treatment of polydopamine (PDA). The test material was composite laminated with carbon fiber, aramid fiber, and glass fiber. The mechanical properties were evaluated by tensile testing. The tensile strength of the aramid and glass composites generally did not increase effectively with surface treatment. In carbon composites, both strength and toughness properties were improved by surface modification. In aramid composites, the toughness showed the best effect with surface treatment, but glass composites had no effect. When the deposited PDA was properly and evenly distributed, the composites showed excellent tensile properties.
