Prior to 1 or 2 days planned laparoscopic colonic resection, we describe a technique to precisely mark the edges of the colonic tumor during colonoscopic examination. Autologous venous whole blood 8 ml was collected by an anticoagulant tube. Using a 23-G needle, the margins of colonic growth were injected with 4 ml blood in the submucosa at one injection point. This stained the serosal surface and became a perfect guide to precisely judge the margin of the tumor.
