In India E-waste is piling up at an alarming rate, yet there is dearth of technology to process E-waste and extract precious metals from it. Most of the E-waste is sent to European nations after the shredding stage for extracting precious metals like gold, palladium, platinum etc. due to lack of indigenous material technology facility. The objective of this paper is to determine the optimal location of setting up a Precious Material Extraction facility for E-waste recycling units in National Capital Region (NCR) of India so that precious metals can be extracted and used in manufacturing industries and contribute towards Make in India initiative. The article uses analytical model to find the most suited location in NCR for initiating precious metal extraction plant. Single-facility rectilinear location and Gravity location models have been employed for the same considering the current locations of E-waste recycling units and their E-waste handling capacity. Multi-criteria decision analysis has been used to determine the best out of two locations obtained by using the models.
