Considering the excited state and the standard rate equations, this study provides a new circuit model for a self-assembled quantum dot laser made by InGaAs/GaAs and investigates the effects of the Auger recombination process. It is shown that there is more output power and quantum efficiency and higher modulation bandwidths when Auger recombination is considered for these lasers.
