AbstractWe have properly investigated the electrical conductance of ruthenium-tris-bipyridine (RuBpy) metal complex molecule by using quantum chemistry package supported by non-equilibrium Green’s function code. Our results reveal that RuBpy molecule possesses magnetic properties as well as two distinct conductance states. The key finding is that these two electrical states are primarily defined by the molecular configuration and not by the molecular length as it was initially suggested by fabricating group.
