The effect of injection timing, blend percentage, and engine load on the performance along with the emission characteristics of a diesel engine with diethyl ether as a fuel add-on was investigated. Taguchi method was employed for the design of the experiment and the optimal combination of parameters for the possible best engine output. The impact of each factor was determined by using analysis of variance. The analysis outcome disclosed that engine load and injection timing had higher influence in providing the best results for performance and emission characteristics.
