In this work, the equivalent properties for a pure metallic reinforcement to be used in pressure vessels are obtained by means of the Finite Element Method. Three different configurations for the unit cell distribution are proposed and tested against a solid model. It is found that the equivalent properties determined using some unit cells can represent the behavior of the three-dimensional model, with considerably less computational resources. The proposed method can be used to obtain the equivalent properties for different metallic reinforcements, saving computational time during the design process.
