This paper proposed an $$(n+1)$$(n+1)-dimensional extended reduced differential transform for solving the initial value autonomous system of time fractional partial differential equations (TFPDEs) with proportional delay. Specially, we concerned with the numerical computation of an approximate analytic solution of $$(1+1)$$(1+1) dimensional TFPDEs with proportional delay including generalized Burgers equations with proportional delay obtained by employing extended FRDTM. To confirm the efficiency and validity of the method, the computation of three test problems of the TFPDEs with proportional delay is presented. The scheme seems very reliable, effective and efficient powerful technique for solving various type of physical models arising in sciences and engineering. The small size of computation is the strength of the scheme.
