In this paper, we studied the effect of feedback controls on the stability of epidemiological models. A fractional-order Susceptible-Infectious (SI) epidemic model is an example of the studying. Based on constructing the reproduction number $$R_{0}$$ and analyzing the characteristic equations of the Jacobian of SI model, the stability analysis of equilibrium points is investigated. Good results were found when dealing with the fractional version instead of the integer one, additionally, the feedback controls provided guidance for treating disease. These good results were presented as numerical simulations.
