Shear strength is an important tip in concrete design requirements due to brittle behavior of concrete. This study introduced an innovated test model of concrete shear strength prediction. Proposed model has specified configuration of geometry, loading and lateral constraint boundaries so as to create shear stress state within a limited area, termed as a shear zone. In addition to out of plane dimension and shear zone scale, parameters such as concrete compressive strength, and maximum aggregate size are considered to confirm the reliability of the proposed model. The experimental program depicted that the effectiveness of adopted variables of shear stress are compatible with previous studies, and so enhanced model liability. The test results compared with those determined based on the state of the member without axial force according to ACI 318-14, the comparative scope are revealed the reasonable conservative of ACI 318 when dealing with shear strength. Finite element analysis is considered to highlight stress distribution within the proposed model to support model acceptability. Generally, observations of the experimental program which included test results analysis and failure mode, compatible behavior of numerical model as well as comparative analysis could be introduced suggested model as a test model of concrete shear strength prediction.
