Highlights • For most players, poker trajectories remained stable over two years (i.e. stable land-based and online poker).• Gambling behaviors (number of gambling activities, severity of problems) were the only predictors of poker trajectories.• Future research should examine how poker players explain stable and unstable trajectories.
