Abstract Total and subshell-selective charge exchange cross sections and the corresponding reaction rate coefficients for Ne q+ -H ( q = 6–10 ) collision systems are calculated by utilizing the two-center atomic orbital close-coupling (TC-AOCC) method at impact energy between 0.1  keV/u and 500  keV/u. Good agreements with the experimental and other theoretical results are found for the total charge transfer cross section in the considered energy range and for those of the dominant charge-exchange channels for the higher collision energies. These charge exchange cross section data are useful for understanding and modeling the X-ray emission in environments where charge transfer is an important mechanism generating this emission.
