The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Annual Conference is the most comprehensive infection prevention conference in the world, featuring leading experts in infection prevention, cutting-edge education, the largest exhibit hall dedicated to infection prevention, and vibrant networking events. Taking place in Portland, OR, June 14-16, 2017, the 44th APIC Annual Conference is anticipated to bring together more than 4,000 members of the infection prevention community to explore innovative strategies and best practices, get updated on public policy and regulatory requirements, and hear firsthand about emerging threats. Plenary sessions will be headlined by innovative thought leaders. Opening plenary keynote speaker Celeste Headlee is an awardwinning journalist, author, public speaker, and vocalist who will present “Ten Ways to Have Infinitely Better Conversations.” Focusing on the fundamentals of communication, Ms Headlee will share practical strategies for enhancing professional and personal relationships through the art of conversation and focused listening. Closing plenary keynote speaker Sanjay Saint, MD, will present “Millennials, Motivation, Mission, and Mindfulness: Preventing Infection Circa 2017.” Dr Saint is chief of medicine, VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, and director, Ann Arbor VA Medical Center/ University of Michigan Patient Safety Enhancement Program. His research focuses on enhancing patient safety by preventing health care-associated complications. The APIC 2017 education program features two preconference workshops, hundreds of oral abstracts and poster presentations showcasing the latest in scientific research, and more than 60 educational sessions across six topic tracks:
