322 A comparison of intrauterine balloon deflation techniques in postpartum hemorrhage Kathy C. Matthews, Jana’e Waugh, Stephen T. Chasen, Robin B. Kalish New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell, New York, NY, Howard University, Washington, DC OBJECTIVE: Intrauterine balloon tamponade is a commonly used treatment for refractory postpartum hemorrhage (PPH). However, balloon deflation techniques at the time of tamponade removal have not been studied. The objective of this study was to compare gradual intrauterine balloon deflation versus all-at-once removal in women with PPH. STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective cohort study of women with PPH requiring intrauterine balloon tamponade from 2015-2018.
