Abstract In this paper, an hp-version Chebyshev collocation method is developed for the nonlinear fractional differential equations. The hp-version error bounds of the Chebyshev collocation method are derived under the L 2 -norm and the L ∞ -norm. Numerical experiments are included to illustrate the theoretical results.
