Abstract Academic stress's impact on student's mental health has been considered a global concern over the past decade. However, various stress management techniques are involved in overcoming all stress-related issues. Here, the Direct Normative Stress Statistical Model (DNS-SM) has been proposed in this paper to analyze the stress level of students and its impact on mental health. This research focused on various stress management strategies among students in China. Furthermore, DNS-SM is used to determine the relationship between adverse stress and the perceived ability of students to handle the stress has discussed in this research. Moreover, the stress caused due to depression and the method to overcome this depression is analyzed using statistical modeling. The simulation experimental sample investigated males and females aged 18 to 29 years about their stress management and depression scale.
