Highlights • The Apolipoprotein-E (APOE) ε2 allele is known to be protective against Alzheimer’s disease.• We tested the effect of this allele on cognitive performance, as measured by a sensitive short-term memory task.• A large cohort of genotyped participants performed this task remotely.• ε2 carriers demonstrated superior memory performance in young, middle-aged, and older participants.
