Abstract The cell morphology of the filamentous actinobacterium Actinomadura namibiensis was evaluated by image analysis of microscopic pictures. A pixel intensity thresholding method was used to differentiate between pelleted bioagglomerates, the macro-morphology, and the characterization of individual hyphae, the micro-morphology.
