Abstract The aim of this paper is to examine the perspective of implementing of the calculation model to forecast the inner climate development in historic buildings. Accuracy of calculations is very important issue, as environmental factors, especially air temperature and moisture, strongly influence condition of building and collection. Hence, the indoor conditions in a 18th century wooden church in Wiśniowa (Poland) as well as the external climate were monitored over three years. The results of year-round simulations were compared with the results of experimental studies and referred to the assessment criteria indices (among others Normalized Mean Bias Error, Coefficient of Variation of the Root Mean Square Error, Coefficient of Determination and Goodness of Fit) and the conservation criteria of the model accuracy. As a result of model calibration, sufficient compliance was obtained except for Goodness of Fit. The key turned out to consider the mass of the wooden furnishings and altars, lowering soil moisture and increasing the precision of determining internal heat and moisture gains.
