M. N. V. Ravi Kumar, PhD is Professor at Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. His research is focused on developing new strategies to harnessing therapeutic potential of existing drugs/drug-like compounds that not only leads to better therapies but also possible new indications. His lab is first to propose non-competitive nanosystems specific to transferrin receptors that do not compete with physiological ligands. His research in drug delivery has won him numerous awards including the British Pharmaceutical Conference Science Medal, UK (2009), Tom Gibson Memorial Award by British Society of Plastic Surgeons & the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, UK (2008), Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Medal for Young Scientist, India (2007).
