Abstract Here we report a comparative study of Au supported on different types of TiO 2 in the photocatalytic degradation of BPA. The beneficial presence of a small amount of rutile was proven once again, the TiO 2 anatase showing a lower activity despite a higher surface area. Also, the role of gold plasmon was evidenced by the use of an inert silica support.
