Abstract Kinetic modelling of furfural oxidation with hydrogen peroxide over a fibrous polymer-supported sulphonic acid catalyst was performed. The proposed kinetic model describes the concentration profiles of the reactants, intermediates and products as a function of reaction time at different temperature. Parameter estimation has been performed followed by their statistical analysis showing that the kinetic parameters were statistically well identified.
