Abstract CoFe 2 O 4 and Co 0.5 Nd 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 spinel ferrites have been synthesized by coprecipitation method, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and superconducting quantum interference device magnetometer (SQUID) techniques were used to characterize crystal structure, morphology and magnetic properties. Spinel structure of single phase is obtained according to XRD results for both samples. From TEM characterization results, we obtained a spherical morphology for CoFe 2 O 4 with an average of 8.71 nm and a nanorod morphology for Nd doped Cobalt ferrite with a particle diameter of about 6 nm and length of 40 nm. According to the hysteresis loop, Co 0.5 Nd 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 exhibits a maximum energy product (BH) max of 0.431 MGOe (3.434 kJ/m 3 ) at room temperature, with an enhancement of 7% compared to pure cobalt ferrites nanoparticles, which prove the efficiency of this material in permanent magnets application.
