Abstract In this paper, the synergistic effect of conventional nano materials (nano Al2O3/SiO2) and nano rare earth oxides (nano Y2O3/CeO2) on the properties of vitrified bond is studied, which can effectively improve the grinding performance of vitrified bond grinding wheel. The experimental results show that the synergistic action of the two nano materials can not only effectively improve the fluidity and reduce the refractoriness of the vitrified, but also perform well in the aspects of toughening, reinforcing and improving the crystallinity of the vitrified bond, which is suitable for manufacturing CBN grinding wheel.
