Abstract The growth of pure V2O5 and V2O5-Au films were performed by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. XRD shows that V2O5 belongs to orthorhombic. SEM, TEM and HRTEM images demonstrate the V2O5 is nanosheets, and the Au nanoparticles are anchored on the V2O5 nanosheets, forming a 165.3 nm dense V2O5-Au nanocomposite film. Compared to pure V2O5 film electrodes, the V2O5-Au nanocomposite film electrodes behave an admirable electrochemical performance with better rate and cycling performance, and impedance are weakened. The results imply that the Au nanoparticles incorporation improves capacity and accelerates the charge transfer process, and thus contribute to enhance batteries performance.
