Abstract In the present work we show application of Brans-Dicke theory of gravitation, as an alternative to Einstein’s general relativity, in modeling anisotropic compact stellar objects. To make the field equations solvable we consider the space-time under Class 1 embedding condition. The numerical solution of wave equation for Brans-Dicke scalar field Φ has been well fitted with well known function proposed by Bruckman and Kazes (Phys.Rev.D 16:261,1977). The solutions set seems viable as far as observational data are concerned.
