Summary This communication describes the advances made in the past five years in molecular electronic when the electroreduction of diazonium compounds is used to attach a molecular layer on a bottom electrode and to generate molecular junctions through fully CMOS compatible processes. It describes some of the many electronic functions that can be realized and gives some perspectives.
