Abstract A recently developed cohesive zone traction-separation formulation for mode I facesheet to core disbonding, which includes the effects of fiber bridging in a novel way, is extended to account for mode II and mixed mode delamination. The pure mode I and mode II behavior of the model is calibrated based on traction separation curves which are extracted from Double Cantilever Beam (DCB) and End Notched Flexure (ENF) experiments utilizing the J integral. An existing mixed mode framework, which requires no further parameters, is used to predict the load displacement curves of Mixed ode Bending (MMB) tests. Very close agreement between numerical predictions and experimental results is observed for all demonstrated mixed mode ratios.
