Abstract While the majority of the U-wrap studies have focused on the experimental results and mechanism of the shear strengthening effect, very few studies have devoted to analyze the behavior of the concrete-Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) interface under the U-wrap region. Previous studies (Lee and Lopez, 2016) have found the increase in the debonding strain of the concrete-FRP interface due to the addition of the U-wrap. In this study, a Frictional Bond-Slip (FBS) model is proposed in order to analyze the behavior of the concrete-FRP interface region under the U-wrap. The effectiveness of the proposed numerical method has been validated by comparisons of experimental results, indicating that the proposed FBS model accurately predicts the bond behavior of FRP system under the effect of U-wraps.
