Abstract Slippery liquid-infused porous surface (SLIPS) with good water repellency has attracted many attentions. However, its durability should be enhanced for practical application. Herein, a durable SLIPS is designed based on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for the first time, which serve as reservoirs to trap and store the lubricant. Owing to the strong interaction with lubricant, rough surface structure, as well as the abundant porosity of MOFs, the so-obtained SLIPS based on MOFs (SLIPS-M) possesses good water repellency with a sliding angle of approx. 2° and excellent stability even under O2 plasma etching, water boiling and acid immersing.
