Abstract The BiOIO3 nanosheets and Bi7O9I3 nanoflowers were successfully prepared by solvothermal method with different solvents for Hg0 photocatalytic oxidation. XRD, SEM, XPS, FTIR, UV-vis DRS and PL were used to analyze the physical and chemical characteristics of BiOIO3 and B7O9I3. It was discovered that Bi7O9I3 has superior visible light absorption capacity and carrier separation and transport properties, which allows it to use a wider spectrum of visible light to promote the separation and transport of electrons and holes, thereby facilitating photocatalytic activity.
