Abstract The oldest representatives of Pilaria Sintenis, 1889 (Diptera, Limoniidae), ca. 99 Ma (earliest Cenomanian), have been discovered in Burmese amber of northern Myanmar. Two new species have been described, Pilaria magdalena sp. nov. and Pilaria wojciechi sp. nov. This work also contains an up-to-date summary of knowledge about fossil species of this genus and their identification key.
