Highlights • Injected HSP70 and a partial peptide of a CCL3 variant elicit tumor growth inhibition.• The peptide also enhances tumor growth inhibition after local irradiation.• The sequence of the peptide corresponds to the beta sheet region of the valiant.• Chemotactic-inducing activity and tumor grow inhibition are independent phenomena.• The results will help to open the way for therapeutic application of like peptides.
