Highlights: • Recently, flank target volumes adjusted for organ shift/motion have been defined.• Highly conformal volumes with VMAT were compared to conventional volumes/beams.• The new approach prevented a dose constraint violation of ≥ 1 OARs in 60% of cases.• VMAT reduced the irradiated Total Body Volume receiving > 10% of the prescribed dose.
