Abstract A clean and environmentally benign route to synthesize a series of some benzothiazole derivatives using the reaction between various synthetized aldehydes, thiosemicarbazide and different acetophenones and N-bromosuccinimide as a substrate instead of haloacetophenones reported in the previous reactions in the presence of a catalytic amount of Korea advanced institute of science and technology cubic ordered mesoporous silica coated magnetite nanoparticles as highly ordered large pore nanoparticle was reported. The present methodology offers several advantages such as aqueous media, excellent yields, simple procedure, mild conditions and reduced environmental consequences. The catalyst was recovered and reused. All of synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, NMR and elemental analyses.
