Complex radiotherapy treatments require accurate quality assurance programs, in order to prevent errors that can affect patient treatment. Recently several very serious incidents have been reported. Transit EPID in vivo dosimetry has been shown able to intercept and correct many of these errors. Aim of this paper is to furnish an overview about state-of-art transit EPID dosimetry softwares. The basic functionality, clinical implementation and results of main softwares are reviewed. Systems showing dosimetric results after the first fraction of treatment (quasi real time), and during the irradiation (real time) have been included in this review.
