Abstract This work reports the fabrication of a robust and high-performance CNT/Ag composite electrode via catalytic chemical vapor deposition of ethylene. The fabricated electrode showed the formation of aligned CNTs with strong adhesion to the Ag substrate. It was successfully applied to zero-current potentiometry and sequential injection analysis of ascorbic acid. The CVD-fabricated CNT/Ag composite electrode showed an excellent response, a fast equilibrium, good sensitivity and reproducibility, as well as durability for long term use.
