OBJECTIVE This study aimed to evaluate the performance of the patient safety committee in Makassar City General Hospital. METHODS This type of research is qualitative with a realist evaluation approach and obtained as many as ten informants. RESULTS Analysis of the performance of the Patient Safety Committee at Makassar City General Hospital was divided into context, mechanism, and outcome. In the context, it is known that human resources are still less involved in patient safety committees. The mechanism is known that routine monitoring and evaluation is still not carried out. The outcome is known that the implementation of the patient safety committee has not been effective in achieving the standard number of incidents of patient safety in hospitals. CONCLUSION The patient safety committee has not run well at the Makassar City General Hospital because of human resources that have not played an active role in it.
