Abstract We use conformal mapping techniques and analytic continuation to derive an analytic solution to the problem of an edge dislocation interacting with two semi-infinite vertical cracks. Closed-form expressions for the rigid-body rotation at infinity of the left half-plane, the image force acting on the edge dislocation due to its interaction with the two cracks and mode I and mode II stress intensity factors at the two crack tips induced by the edge dislocation are obtained.
