Abstract The title of a recently published paper in the ‘Energy Research and Social Science’ (ERSS) journal is “Do we need better behaved cooks? Reviewing behavioural change strategies for improving the sustainability and effectiveness of cookstove programs”. I argue in this ‘Perspective’ that such a title is offensive from a social justice perspective and the title framing is misleading from a scientific perspective.
