Abstract A N-heterocyclic olefins (NHOs) catalyzed ring-opening polymerization of N-tosyl aziridines has been developed under metal-free and mild conditions. The NHO serves as a highly efficient and versatile organocatalyst for the synthesis of linear poly(aziridine)s, delivering the corresponding polymers with high chain-end fidelity, controlled molecular weights (up to 83 kg/mol) and narrow molecular weight distributions (Р= 1.10–1.16). Based on MALDI-TOF MS and 1H NMR spectroscopies’ results, an anionic ring-opening polymerization (AROP) mechanism has been proposed.
