Phase behavior for the 2-(trimethylsilyloxy)ethyl methacrylate and 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate in supercritical carbon dioxide

Abstract The solubilities of 2-(trimethylsilyloxy)ethyl methacrylate and 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate in supercritical CO2 fluid were measured at many different temperature (i.e., 313.2, 333.2, 353.2, 373.2 and 393.2 K) and up to 22.49 MPa… Click to show full abstract

Abstract The solubilities of 2-(trimethylsilyloxy)ethyl methacrylate and 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate in supercritical CO2 fluid were measured at many different temperature (i.e., 313.2, 333.2, 353.2, 373.2 and 393.2 K) and up to 22.49 MPa pressures using variable-volume high pressure view cell by static-type. Both systems have shown the type-I phase behavior. Their solubility curve in supercritical CO2 fluid was obtained by varying the pressure at a fixed temperature. The PC-SAFT equation of state (EoS) was used to correlate experimental data and to predict the critical pressure locus. The calculated results show a good agreement with experimental data.
