Abstract This study reports the new VLE data of n-hexadecane in pure propane at 403 Kand in the supercritical solvent mixture (0.527 propane+0.473 n-butane mole fraction) at 403 K, 423 K, and 443 K over the pressure range from (1.22–6.31) MPa. The measurements were made using a high-temperature and high-pressure optical cell. The combined expanded uncertainty of the temperature, pressure, and concentration measurements at 95% confidence level with a coverage factor of k = 2 is estimated at 0.15 K, 0.05%, and 3%, respectively. The measured VLE data for binary propane + hexadecane and ternary propane + n-butane + n-hexadecane mixtures were used to examine the predictive capabilities PC-SAFT and PR EoS.
