Abstract Two new stable 3,1-phosphagermapropenes have been synthesized and completely characterized in solution, solid state and by computational methods. The newly obtained compounds contain the germanium atom included into a fluorenylic cycle and their high stability towards air and moisture could be attributed to an extended aromaticity of the germafluorenyl moiety.
