Abstract The paper describes remote approach to the control of thermo-opto-mechanical plant. The attention is devoted to a low-cost realization, where the ordinary desktop computer is substituted by one-board computer Raspberry Pi. The plant provides a control of three variables: temperature, light intensity and rpm of the fan. The feedback control is realized by a proportional-integral-derivative controller. The setting of controller parameters and required value of output can be done by remote user not only before the experiment but also during its execution.
