Abstract An autonomous agricultural machinery is considered to be one of the most effective ways for improving agricultural productivity. The purpose of this study was to develop automation technology for manual transmission of a 50 HP autonomous tractor. The electric actuators were developed for shuttle shifting and clutch control automatically. The result showed that maximum total duration and shifting shock of all shifting directions were less than 2.5 sec and 0.55 G. The results showed that the developed actuators with shifting control algorithm could be useful for the automation of manual transmission of a 50 HP agricultural tractor.
