Abstract The knowledge of experienced and competent workers, or expert knowledge, so called, is an important element in the decision-making process in a maintenance department. Motivated by the need for collecting and storing a unique expert knowledge of maintenance, the Maintenance Business Processes Assignment Model, namely, the Eknow-Maintenance Model, was developed, by using the Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH). The Eknow-Maintenance Model includes: Expert Maintenance Identification (E1), Acceptance of Expert Maintenance using FAHP (E2), Expert Knowledge Acquisition (E3), Expert Knowledge Representation (E4) and Expert Knowledge Understanding using the GMDH method (E5). This model is implemented in the web-application.
